This season, instead of playing rec ball with the city, I played at Suwanee Sports Academy. The Academy focuses more on teaching basketball skills versus just playing games. So, I actually learned the fundamentals of basketball (like footwork, passing, dribbling, shooting, zone defense, etc.) and not focused so much on just winning the game.
The name of my team was Georgia Tech, and we played 8 games in the regular season. Our record was 4 - 4, but we played really well in that with our losses, we only lost by no more than 2 points. We lost the first game of the tournament, and it was single elimination. The first time that a team loses, they are out of the tournament. The good thing is that for the teams that don't continue in the tournament, they stil continue to practice and play games until the tournament is actually over. So, even though we didn't make it to the final playoff game, we still got to go back to the Academy and practice the skills that we learned.
6:30 PM - Game
Final score: 29 - 6 (we won), and I scored about half of our points. Video highlights from the game will be posted below shortly!
9:00 AM - Tournament starts!
We lost pretty bad. The team that we played had these boys that had been playing together for years.
