Here is where you can learn all about me and basketball!
My mom started me playing basketball when I was 4 years old. Our city recreation league has these classes called P-nut sports for 4 year olds that just teach you how to play the game. I play so much better now.
For the 2007-2008 season, instead of playing rec ball with the city, I played at Suwanee Sports Academy. The Academy focuses more on teaching basketball skills versus just playing games. So, I actually learned the fundamentals of basketball (like footwork, passing, dribbling, shooting, zone defense, etc.) and not focused so much on just winning the game.
For the 2008-2009 season, I went back to playing for the city rec league. In the regular season, we were undefeated, and we lost one game during the playoffs. But, we won the championship for the 9-10 year old group, and the coach asked me to play on the All-Star Team.
After All-Stars was over, I started playing basketball with an AAU team, the Georgia Stars. We lost a few games, and won a few games. Playing with the Stars was hard cause we were gone all the time. We qualified for the national championship. I would have loved to go and play in Orlando, FL. But, the coaches decided not to go. My mom was not happy about that decision. Maybe next time.
2009 - 2010. Since I'm in middle school now, I played basketball with the 6th grade GBL team. Coach James was my coach again! This time we played against teams from around the county, and it was a lot harder than playing rec ball. Actually, it was about the same as playing AAU basketball. We didn't do very well this year, but maybe next year will be a lot better.
Spring 2010. I'm playing for another AAU basketball team. But, I'm playing on a 13U team. The name of the team is the Reach Higher Kings. We've just been practicing so far, and play our first tournament this weekend. You can go that page on my website to learn more.
