2009 - 2010 Season - 6th grade boys GBL
This is my first time playing with GBL. Coach James was our coach again, since his son played on our team. Coach James asked my mom to be team mom. She did a lot of stuff, like trying to make sure that everybody was at practice and the games on time, and that we had the right color uniforms. She also picked up kids for practice and the games when their parents were able to take them.
We only won 3 games the whole season, but we still played pretty good. A lot of the teams that we played had boys that play AAU basketball too. So, the games were really hard. Only one other boy on our team had ever played AAU basketball, so the other boys were not used to playing that hard. But, we still played our best. We only had 7 boys on the team that played all season (one boy kept injuring himself, and another one ended up dropping out). Most of the other teams that we played had about 10 or 12 boys on their team. It was harder for us because we didn't get to rest much during the game. But, that's ok because next year we're going to be better and beat them.
